So happy :) I was nervous all weekend after feeling like I scathed by just barely out of the red zone last Thursday... this platelet count is very good news. This means that my body is definitely working with the drugs and the good scores I've seen thus far aren't entirely from the drugs; whether my body will continue to work as the Rituxan clears entirely from my system and the Prednisone is tapered off to nothing.... that we won't know and will just have to go day by day to see. BUT in the meantime, the fact that I didn't crash over this past weekend means that SOMETHING in my body is working with the drugs and not just relying on them entirely, and this is very comforting :)
My MDs discussed and after this level test today they are not going to schedule any more Rituxan unless I start to crash, so as of now I am DONE with the Rituxan! Phew. Its still very much flooding my system and they say will take weeks to work it all out but at least I won't be getting a new drip load weekly & dealing with that. I'm very happy to hear it!
The weather here is icky-poo... back and forth between freeeezing-cold-windy-teen temps, and deceivingly sunny but not quite actually warm mid 30s... prime weather for sickness to germinate and boy-oh-boy has it! Everyone is sick, so I'm avoiding crowds and any sick aquaintences like the plague, as one flu or cold will easily send me back to the hospital and I'm on massive immuno-supressant drugs (both Prednisone & Rituxan are holding down my immune system). So I'm hunkering in as much as possible and holding out till my next test Friday morning! Mom is visiting this Saturday - Wednesday and I want to be HOME while she's here instead of making her sleep with me at NewYorkPresbyteranHospital in visitor chairs so fingers crossed all goes well till then :) I'll let you know Friday!
