I am so relieved. I honestly was prepared to spend the weekend in the hospital again, ... my head still feels weird and I'm still shaky and weak so I was certain that after Tuesday's drop in platelets today's test would yield levels too low for me to go anywhere but the hospital for Plasma Pheresis. WRONG :)
After a quick dip to 150 on Tuesday, my platelet count today was back up to 170!! Which is not a huge increase but its an increase and that is a huge deal for my body to be able to get an increase without Plasma Pheresis, so I am very happy about that. And about the fact that I won't be spending Valentines day in a hospital room next to a stranger in a bed pan :)
I've been very shaky, & weak and jittery the past two days. And my head feels all weird like theres static in my brain and I'm all spacy & it aches sometimes... this I felt before the two other hosptial visits too so I was convinced it was a symptom and I was going straight to the hospital today, but apparently not? ... its frustrating and wonderful news, this count. I'm happy to be home, but really want to be able to see some sort of pattern and start to understand something about my TTP. This living in the dark and always not knowing or being able to do anything for myself, is not my cup of tea! But I am grateful to be well at the moment so that is good :)
Pastore is on call all weekend and said to keep him updated if I have any symptoms or feel worse, but hopefully I'll be clear for the weekend then my test Tuesday will help determine whether more Rituxan is needed or if I can try to taper off the steroids with just the 4 rounds of Rituxan I already completed. SO.... fingers crossed till Tuesday! I'll let you know then :)
